Stay alert for any noticeable signs of leakage when using your Bharat Gas LPG cylinder. Always check for unusual smells, hissing sounds, or gas stains around the cylinder or connections. If you detect any issues, immediately turn off the gas supply and ensure proper ventilation. It’s essential to inspect your LPG bottle regularly, whether it’s for domestic or non-domestic use (19kg, 5kg, or 14kg). For safety, contact your LPG distributor or agency for assistance. Precautions

  • Ensure adequate ventilation and raise alarm or shout in case of leakage.
  • Try and keep the cylinders in a cool place and at a safe distance from sparks, flames and high heat.
  • Avoid using LPG in windy situations and immediately suspend all operations in case of unsafe situations.
  • Put on safety cap and place the LPG cylinder in an open area when suspected valve leakage.
  • Read operating instructions mentioned by the manufacturer carefully before use

Don'ts

  • Don’t keep your LPG cylinder in the horizontal position. The right way to use the cylinder is upright.
  • Keep the cylinder away from any direct or indirect heat.
  • Do not connect the cylinder without checking valve and ‘O’ ring.
  • Don’t let the unused and unconnected LPG cylinders hanging around.
  • Don’t let any unauthorized person enter the cylinder area.
  • Don’t use battery-operated or electrical devices in and around the LPG shed.

Inspection of the LPG Installation

You must insist on a mandatory inspection of their LPG installation once in 5 years by the trained mechanic. This service is available on payment of the requisite charges approved by Oil Marketing Companies. This will help in safe up keep of the domestic LPG installation.

In case of Leakage

In the rare event of Leakage or in case there is smell of gas:

  • Do not panic.
  • Turn the pressure regulator (DPR) knob to the ‘OFF’ position.
  • Put out all fires in the kitchen/vicinity (including agarbatti, pooja lamp etc).
  • Do Not light matchstick/lighter. Do Not switch ‘On’ or switch ‘Off’ any electrical switches (including main switch). Remember that electrical switches and dry cell torches generate sparks while switching on or off.
  • Open all doors and windows for ventilation.
  • Call the distributor / the Emergency Number immediately,
